Sets of four plate-mount casters, two swivel with brake and two swivel without, so a cart can be parked without chocking a wheel. Standard four-bolt top plate fits most carts and benches built in the last thirty years; measure your existing bolt pattern before ordering, because the plate is the one dimension that is not forgiving. Polyurethane on an aluminium or nylon core rolls quietly on sealed concrete, will not mark a finished floor, and absorbs a surface joint without transmitting it into the load. Phenolic takes heat and higher static loads and is the right choice where a cart sits loaded for long periods or passes near an oven, because polyurethane will flat-spot under a sustained load and then thump for the rest of its life. Bigger wheels roll over debris more easily and start more easily from rest; the reason not to fit five-inch wheels everywhere is deck height and the loss of stability that comes with it.
