Drum Dolly

Description

A five-caster steel ring sized for a standard fifty-five gallon drum, rated twelve hundred pounds. Five casters rather than four, and that is the whole design argument: a drum is tall, heavy and carries its mass high, so on a four-caster ring it will rock diagonally between opposing wheels every time it is nudged or stopped. On five it cannot, because there is always a wheel under the direction of the rock. The ring is formed rather than flat so the drum chime seats into it and cannot walk off the edge on a ramp. Non-marking wheels, and the whole assembly is low enough that a drum on the dolly still fits under a standard bung wrench and a drum pump. Use it to move a drum, not to store one long-term on a slope. If the drum holds anything that must be contained, the dolly is not secondary containment and does not satisfy a spill regulation on its own.
