Description

Twelve rolls of creped blue shop towel, absorbent enough for coolant and oil and tough enough wet that it does not shred on a threaded edge or a burr. Creping is the mechanical micro-folding that gives the sheet stretch and bulk; it is why a shop towel mops up a spill that a flat paper towel of the same weight just pushes around. Blue for the oldest practical reason in a workshop — it is visible against metal, against concrete and in a machine, so a towel left inside a guard gets spotted before the machine is started. They are the default consumable on every bench that has given up on rags, and they should be: laundered rags carry whatever was on them last time and a rag with a trapped chip in it will scratch a finish. Used towels contaminated with oil or solvent are frequently a regulated waste — know the rule for your site before the first bin fills.
