Description

Twelve rigid plastic facility signs, ten by fourteen inches, in the standard ANSI Z535 header set: Danger in red, Warning in orange, Caution in yellow, Notice in blue. The header words are not interchangeable and the colour coding is the whole grammar — Danger means a hazard that will cause death or serious injury, Warning means it could, Caution means a lesser injury, and Notice is not a hazard at all but a property or procedure message. Using Danger on a housekeeping message is the fastest way to teach a workforce to ignore red signs. Rigid plastic rather than vinyl so they mount flat on an uneven wall and do not curl in a humid building, with rounded corners and pre-drilled holes. Mount at eye height, in the line of sight of the person approaching the hazard, not on the machine itself where it will be read only by somebody already standing in the wrong place.
