Description

A refillable wall dispenser loaded with five hundred pairs of tapered polyurethane foam plugs rated 32 NRR. Mounted at the door rather than stored in a drawer, because protection kept in a drawer is not protection and everybody knows it. The dispenser dispenses one pair at a time, which is what stops a box being emptied into a pocket. A word on the rating: 32 NRR is a laboratory figure achieved with a perfect fit, and real-world attenuation is materially lower — many programmes derate it by half. A foam plug only achieves anything close to its rating if it is rolled down thin, inserted deep while pulling the ear up and back, and held until it expands. A plug resting in the outer ear does close to nothing. If people are wearing them and still complaining about noise, the fit is the problem, not the plug. Refills are stocked separately by the box.
