Bubble Cushion Roll, Perforated

Description

A twenty-four inch perforated roll, tear-off every twelve inches, one hundred and seventy-five feet. This is cushioning proper, not void fill: the trapped air column deforms under impact and returns the product to rest slowly instead of stopping it hard against a carton wall. Small bubble at three sixteenths of an inch is for surface protection and light items, where the job is to keep a finish from scuffing against its neighbour. Large bubble at five sixteenths is for heavier goods and for filling a deeper gap, where the extra air column gives more travel before it bottoms out. Wrap so the bubbles face inward against the product; outward they are more easily burst by the carton and by each other. Perforation is what makes a roll usable by one person at a bench, because the alternative is a blade near a finished product. Keep it away from heat, which slowly diffuses the air out.
