Description

A twelve-gauge welded steel deck on a formed channel frame, two rigid and two swivel five-inch casters, rated two thousand pounds distributed. The handle is bolted rather than welded, which is deliberate: the handle is the part that meets a door frame, and a bolted handle is a twenty-minute repair while a welded one writes off the cart. Two rigid casters at one end and two swivels at the other is the configuration that tracks straight down an aisle under load; four swivels feels agile when empty and becomes unmanageable at eight hundred pounds. The deck is punched rather than solid so that water, swarf and dropped hardware fall through instead of collecting. Capacity is distributed capacity, which means spread across the deck, not concentrated on one corner. A two-thousand-pound rating does not mean two thousand pounds sitting on a six-inch footprint over one caster, and that is how decks get dished.
