Description

Rivet-style boltless shelving that assembles with a rubber mallet and nothing else, five particleboard decks, eight hundred pounds per shelf evenly distributed. Boltless is not a convenience feature, it is what determines whether the shelving is ever reconfigured. A unit that needs two people, a socket set and an afternoon does not get moved when the stockroom changes, and shelving that never moves is shelving in the wrong place within a year. Rivet shelving comes apart and goes back up in a different configuration in twenty minutes. Capacity is per shelf and evenly distributed — eight hundred pounds does not mean eight hundred pounds stacked on a six-inch footprint in the middle of the deck, which is how a deck ends up dished. Units can be joined in a run sharing uprights, which saves both money and floor. Anchor the top of any freestanding run to the wall. Wire decks are available where sprinkler coverage is a concern.
