Description

Four rolls of a thousand four-by-six direct thermal labels on a three-inch core, perforated between labels, sized for every common desktop and industrial label printer. Direct thermal means no ribbon: the print head darkens a coating on the face stock, so there is one consumable instead of two and nothing to thread. The trade is shelf life. A direct thermal label will fade under sustained heat, direct sunlight or contact with a solvent or plasticiser, so it is the correct choice for a parcel that will be delivered within weeks and the wrong choice for an asset tag or a label that must survive outdoor storage for a year. For those, use thermal transfer with a resin ribbon. The permanent acrylic adhesive holds on corrugate, on stretch film and on poly mailers, including in a cold trailer, which is where a cheaper label lifts a corner and then catches on a conveyor.
