A supply house, not a marketplace
TXB Supply Co. is an industrial supply business in Houston, Texas. We stock the consumables and
equipment that keep a shipping bench, a warehouse floor and a maintenance shop running: corrugated
and film, carts and trucks, floor care and waste handling, protective equipment, and the bins,
shelving and matting that hold a workspace together.
Why Houston
Houston is a working city. The port complex, the refineries and petrochemical plants that sit
along the ship channel, and the thousands of fabrication shops, distributors and contractors that
serve them all buy the same unglamorous things week after week. That is the customer we built
around. Being here means our stock profile reflects what actually gets consumed on the Gulf Coast
rather than a national average, and it means a truck leaving us in the afternoon is at most
customers in the region the next morning.
How we choose what to stock
We would rather carry six sizes of carton that move than ninety that do not. A deep catalogue
looks impressive and it slows a buyer down, ties up capital in stock that ages, and guarantees the
one thing you need is the one thing backordered. So we stock a deliberately narrow range, chosen on
one test: is this the item a working shop reaches for by default? Where there is a real reason to
carry a second option — a heavier gauge, a different wheel compound, a butyl-free chemistry — we
carry it and we explain in the listing when to choose which. Where there is not, we carry one.
Descriptions written by people who have used the product
Most supply catalogues reprint a manufacturer’s bullet points. Ours do not. Every listing on
this site says what the item is for, what it is not for, and the mistake buyers most often make
with it — why five casters on a drum dolly rather than four, why butyl-free matters in an enclosed
bay, why a twelve-gauge extension cord kills fewer motors than a sixteen. If a cheaper item in our
own range is the better answer for your job, the listing says so. That costs us an occasional sale
and saves a return, and returns are more expensive than either of us thinks.
How we sell
We sell through this website only. There is no trade counter, no showroom and no outside sales
team, and we do not take payment in person. Orders are paid in full at checkout — we do not offer
credit accounts or net terms. Keeping it to one channel is what lets a small operation hold honest
stock and answer the phone.
What we are not
We are not a marketplace, we do not dropship, and we do not list stock we have not got. If
something is out we say so rather than taking the order and explaining later. We are not
engineers, and nothing in our product descriptions is a compliance opinion — where a specification
or a standard governs your application, the manufacturer’s data sheet and your own competent
person decide, not a web page.
Getting hold of us
Our Contact page has the address, the hours and a form. If you are choosing between two items
and the listings have not settled it, write to us with the application and we will tell you which
one we would send. That is usually a two-minute answer and it is the most useful thing we do.
