Description

A clear polycarbonate face shield on ratchet headgear, ANSI Z87.1 rated, with a replaceable window. The point that gets missed constantly: a face shield is secondary protection and is not eyewear. It protects the face from splash and flying debris, and it is worn over safety glasses or goggles, never instead of them, because a shield is open at the sides and bottom and anything can travel up under it. Every standard and every inspector treats it that way. Ratchet headgear rather than a pinlock because it adjusts without removing gloves and holds its setting when the shield is flipped up. The window is a wear item — it scratches, it takes chemical splash, and a hazed shield is worn tipped up — so replacement windows are stocked separately and are cheap. For grinding, check the window thickness against the task; for chemical decanting, pair it with goggles rather than glasses.
